Alt. entry - Alternate way allowed to enter
Alt. winner - 2nd chosen winner, if prize is not claimed by the first
Any format - Entry on any paper, card, postcard, any size
Area restrictions - States, counties or cities that allow sweeps
ARV - Approximate retail value
Block letters - Hand printed capital letters
Call-in - Entered by phone call
Card - Card weight paper
Certified letter - Letter that must be signed upon delivery
Contest - Sometimes require a skill or activity where many people compete
Daily drawing - Entry picked everyday
Daily entry - Enter every day
DOB - Date of birth
Draw date - Date a drawing is held
Drop box - Collection box that entries go in for a drawing
EMail - Mail sent by Internet on computer
EMail address - Your online name (EX: BOB @ web.com)
Entry - card or paper used to enter
Entry pad - Tear pad with card or paper entries, usually in-store
FAQ's - Frequently asked questions
Fed Ex - Federal Express Mail
Final drawing - Last drawing from several
Full name - First & last or first, middle initial, last Name
Game piece - Game piece from product, label or wrapper with picture or code

Scratch off - Entry that has a scratch off coating, scratch and win also
Second chance - Another drawing from the rest of the non-winning entries
SMP - Specially marked packages
Snail mail - Mail sent to Post Office, mail-in
Spread out entries - Entries sent throughout life of promotion, daily, weekly, etc.
Sponsor - Company who is offering the promotion or offer
Start date - Date promotion was started or offered
Sweeps club - Group for sweepstakes and contest info
Sweeps pals - Fellow sweepstakes friends
Unbelievers - People who think nobody ever wins those prizes
UPC - Universal Product Code
UPS - United Parcel Service
USPS - United States Parcel Service
Veteran Sweeper - Seasoned or experienced person who wins prizes

White Elephant - A prize not needed by winner

3 C's - Cruises, Computers, Cash
3 P's - Patience, persistence, postage
